View Full Version : Can a shared folder be shared only to certain users/IP addresses?

I have a folder that I need to share, but would like to
only allow certain users (with passwords) to access the
folder and restrict others. Is this possible?

Also, is it possible to use a netmask to specify which IP
addresses can access the shared folder?

Thanks.

You can restrict by account but not by IP.
Just how you restrict by account differs between Home=20
and Pro, and in Pro it depends on whether or not Simple=20
sharing is used.

This raises a problem I have been grappling with. Can a folder be denied to
limited accounts on the host computer but still be accessible to other
machines (using 9x) on a TCP/IP network?
Thanks
