I just upgraded from Windows 2000 to Windows XP Pro.

I am not sure if I choose the wrong option during install but, when I boot
now I get a text menu asking to select which OS I would like to use

1 Windows XP
2 Windows 2000
3 Windows

Does this mean I have multiple copies/versions of windows on my HDD?

I am trying to keep this PC as clean as possible and need as much free HDD
space as I can get.

How can I safely get rid of everything but Windows XP Pro?

Thanks in advance.

remove EVERYTHING from your HDD and install clean WinXP

Hi,

Did you upgrade or do a new installation?

For an upgrade, nothing would remain of the old system. In this case,
start/run "C:\boot.ini" and remove the offending lines from the [operating
systems] section.

For a new installation, boot WinXP and open Windows Explorer. Delete the
system folders for the older system. Then follow the steps listed above for
the upgraded system.
