dial up connection missing chk box

I could not find a more appropriate Newsgroup, so I am
posting my problem
here, since there is a lot of brain power using this
Newsgroup.

I've reinstalled windows XP but now, I can not select
manual internet connection on the check box for dial up
mode.

Do I need to re-install all sofware deleting all files
and folders ?

Is there an option other than mentioned above ?
My OS is Window XP Pro.
