Dear All,
I get the following error message while trying to install
files of type 'Windows Installer Package':

'The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode,
or if the Windows installer is not correctly instaled.
Contact your support personnel for assistance'.

My support personnel have had a look to confirm that I am
not running in the safe mode. The Windows Installer as
far as I or they can see looks properly installed. Any
ideas on how I can resolve this problem?

Thanks
Olu

A hint. I typed in your error message exactly as you put it at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;KBHOWTO and it came
up with
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315353&Product=winxp
