how to make access permissions for my shared files

I have Win Xp workstation joined to workgroup ..and when I
share some files on the network ,I could not specify a
password for accessing the shared files (i.e like what
happening when doing so using WIN98)

please help me

Windows XP works somewhat differently to Windows 98. Where you specified
passwords for shares with Windows 98, you now have more flexability
(especially if using XP Pro) in that you define accounts on your machine
that people need to use when connecting to shares on your machine, and you
then assign permissions for shares and folders on your system to each of
those accounts.

You should get some very good information in the help and support center on
your computer if you play around with searching for "share permissions" and
other similar things.

NOTE: To set permissions your hard drive must use a NTFS File System. If it
