Hey! I'm having a problem with my internet connection....it works perfectly for 10 minutes, then all of my messengers dissconnect and explorer wont load...even though the connection is still there. If I reconnect the problem stays there, but if I restart m
y pc it will work again for 10 minutes..anyone have any idea what's wrong?
Thanks
Alex

Hi, Alex. Unfortunately you haven't given us enough information to get a
really good answer. Here are some generic troubleshooting steps for you
to take:
First, the ever-popular: 1) scan with current antivirus ("current"
means a version not earlier than 2002 but using updated virus
definitions); 2) remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy
(www.security.kolla.de) and Ad-aware (www.lavasoftusa.com). Be sure to
update these programs before running, and it is a good idea to do
virus/spyware scans in Safe Mode.
Next, look in the Event Viewer from the Administrative Tools applet in
Control Panel. Any clues?
Also, it might not hurt to do a diagnostic on your modem. Use any
specialized software that came with your modem, or go to the Modem
applet in Control Panel and find the diagnostic area.
Check your Internet settings. Do you have them set to disconnect after
10 minutes of being idle? How are you connecting to the Internet?
Dial-up, cable, dsl? Who is your ISP?
If you still need help, please repost and include some details as
described above, as well as any troubleshooting you've already done.
Cheers,
Malke
