I've got a Mesh Athlon 512K main memory and the usual
peripherals (including scanner and camera). I've had it
for two years and have never managed to get hibernation
to work. When I try it blanks the screen for a few
seconds and then carries on. The system event log shows
that WIA has entered the running state immediately after
the attempt to hibernate. Disabling it, the scanner, and
the camera have no effect.
Help please!

After 2 years of the same thing on my notebook I discovered a suggestion yesterday posted by Dennis Ho on the MS newsgroup, to uninstall Adobe Type Manager 4.0. I did this, rebooted and hey presto! my computer now hibernates when requested to do so. Orch
ids to Dennis, carrots to Adobe.
