Win XP crashes

I just installed the Service Pack 1 update for my Win XP.
Now when I try to close or switch between different
applications I get a crash and memory dump. Files are
cross linked etc. etc. etc. I forwarded the problem to
Microsoft and the error analysis report came back that it
was most likely caused by:
CD Recording Engine

CD Recording Engine was created by Simpli Software Inc..
Please contact Simpli Software Inc. in order to find out
if a solution or an updated version of CD Recording
Engine is available. For more information, see the Simpli
Software Inc. Web site.
I don't understand this because I didn't install any type
of CD recording software on my machine and if I was going
to it would be NERO. Can someone please help me get rid
of this software or tell me how to fix the problem.
Please email me with a fix. I went to their website but
couldn't find any help to the problem.
