Yes I installed SP1 right after the upgrade to XP Pro. I
thought maybe the .dll was corrupted due to those missing
icons in it already, but you said those were normal?

They're normal on my system, but that doesn't mean that your version isn't
damaged. You can find a copy of the XP SP1 Shell32.dll file in the
Windows\ServicePackFiles\I386 folder. You can backup your original copy
that's in the Windows\System32 folder, if you wish, then replace it with the
one in the Service Pack Files folder.

I didn't even know there was a copy of the SP1 on my
computer.

I checked out the difference between what is in the SP
copy and in the Windows/system32 folder. The SP copy is
dated newer (12/3/02 compared to 11/27/02) and the SP copy
is 7.95 megs compared to 7.85 megs. I will copy the SP
copy over (after a backup of the current one) and see what
a reboot brings.

If its not too late, could you click the version tab in the Properties sheet
and compare the two?
