Also, you might find that the "classic" mode will look less confusing. Right click the Start menu button and click Properties. Try the classic mode. It behaves more like what you're already used to.

In Me I was able to set up start menu to group my programs such as the office sub programs into a single group called office. When I reinstalled office it placed all the group as separate programs such as office, access etc. I know how to add a program into a group but I want to drag and drop the icon into the group. I can't find a way to do it. I can;t even find a place in explorer where it shows me the icons listed to do it.

Very confusing. Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks David. I've gone to that and am adding the programs one at a time on the "classic" system.

It's very slow. I'm not a programmer but some one might be able to create a program that will go through the disks and find programs and let you load them into the start menu.
