I have never used XP and it was an option on a new
machine I purchased. I have some DOS based programs used
for work and am not sure how to append the path command
in XP to search needed directories while working in these
programs. Any help in the proper way to append the path
statement in XP would be helpful.

Thanks

Have you tried the Program Compatibility Wizard? It's in the Start Menu,
Programs, Accessories. It might be helpful. Have you tried running your DOS
programs on your XP system? I'd be curious to know whether you find the
Program Compatibility Wizard of any use in this. Perhaps you don't really
need to modify any path statements?

good luck, Dave

Mike,

Right click My Computer>Properties>Advance (tab)>Environment Variables
(bottom of screen)...edit the path statement in the following window.
