Missing icons and files on my desktop !

Hi ;

This is the second time that my icons disappeared from my
desktop! and even some of my folders which had some files
are empty too. what heppened for them?

even with search option , i can not find some of those
document. that is critical issue, is there any virous that
can cause this problem, however i have installed
antivirous software?
