Visit my web site, www.dougknox.com and go to the Windows XP Fixes section.
Follow the link for Remove Common Tasks from Desktop. This small VB Script
utility will modify the System Registry to remove Common Tasks from your
Desktop.

Thanks for the link, Doug. Actually, I did a system restore after I wrote my
original message and it cleaned my desktop right up. But I saved your URL to
my favorites, as I have a feeling I'll be needing help again. After all, I
still have no idea what I did to create the problem in the first place. LOL!

I've been able to duplicate this by playing around in the Web content tab in
Desktop Properties, but it is inconsistent as to when it will show up :)
