Unable to save file due to file permissions error

In Word, Excel or Adobe programs attempting to save a
file from within the program to a Novell server the
following error occurs; "Unable to save file due to file
permission error". Am able to read from the network, just
not able to save.
Can save to local drive then using explorer, can
save to the Network.
Can log in as an administrator and have the same
problem.
Happens only on this machine running Windows XP (sp1
with all updates) and Office XP.
Same user using a different machine but same login
has no problem saving files.
Can anyone help?????

Can you tell us what are the complete permissions (from the advanced
security dialog), on the network share and on the directory that the share
is based on?

Also, which versions (from Help/About) of Excel and Word?
