Greetings, Anne! I have a similar setup with my Dell
laptop: running XP Pro, Road Runner cable modem and using
Microsoft Broadband Wireless Router/Base Station. I am
using Symantec Norton SystemWorks 2003 which includes
Norton AntiVirus 2003 with absolutely no signal strength
problem nor any other problem! Also, your router should
have a firewall option in its software programming; mine
does. Also, you can configure the built-in Firewall in
Windows XP. Hope this helps!
