On my home machine i am running XP home. My partitions
are formatted NTFS. When i try to set permissions i don't
get the security tab in the properties dialog box. Also
in the folder options i can't see the option "Use Simple
File Sharing (Recommended)". So if anyone knows why this
is or how to fix it please e-mail me.
thanks.

The issues you highlight are inherit in the differences between Home and
Professional editions of Windows XP.
You can access the security tab on the folder properties if you reboot your
PC in "Safe Mode" see the online help for details of how to do this.

Since it is annoying to always boot to save mode or use cacls I developed a
context menu extension wich brings up the security dialog on XP Home too (in
normal mode). To install the extension administrator rights are required.

Usage implies that NTFS is used ;o)
