View Full Version : Taskbar Troubles

Hello,
I am having trouble with my taskbar. It has
disappeared completely. When I minimize a window it does
not show up on the taskbar no matter what I minimize.
The only time it does show is if I leave on my quick
launch icons or my windows media player bar. Otherwise
when I take them off it is gone and even when those are
up, windows still don't minimize to there.
Thanks,
Kayne Cushman

What's probably happening is that your other toolbars are sized to be really
big, so they are obscuring the part of the taskbar that shows open programs.
Try this:
- Unlock your taskbar (right-click on the clock and uncheck "Lock the
Taskbar")
- Left click (and hold the mouse button down) on the "bar grippie" that is
on the left side of the Quick Launch bar. Drag it to another place on the
taskbar. (You may need to experiement - keep moving it around.)
- Repeat with the other bars.

It won't let me even expand the taskbar up unless there
is like the windows media player, or language bar
activated, if they are not, it won't "un hide" even
thought that's not an option I have checked. I tried
moving the grippie but it won't move
Thanks

Give this a try;
1. Make sure that the toolbar is unlocked.
2. Move your cursor down to the bottom of the screen.
3. Did it turn into a resize arrow? If it did that's great. Goto 4. =
If it didn't, press the Window key and see what happens.
4. With the arrow on the bottom, left click and drag up.
5. Put yor cursor over the seperator bar "gripper thingy" did you get a =
resize arrow? Double click it and it will auto set to large or small.
