1) Evidently, your drive is already partitioned, or you would not have XP
installed on it.
2) Possibly, what you want to do is FURTHER parition your hard drive, such
that you are able to create secondary partitions, or resize the partitions
already existing on it. You will be unable to do this using Microsoft
tools, since all Microsoft partitioning utilities partition destructively.

You must use a third-party disk management utility, such as
Partition Magic 8.1, found at http://www.powerquest.com
or
BootITNG, found at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com

BootITNG has a decided advantage, since its free download will allow for
writing of changed partition data. Partition Magic 8.1 will not allow you
to write your partition changes with its free download. Also BootITNG is
half the price for its licensed product than Partition Magic 8.1 is.
