Access Denied in Management tools

I have several XP pro laptops that I can't remotely
administer. If I try to access them via Server Manager
or User Manager for Domains I get an access denied
error. I have made sure that domain admins is a member
of the administrators/remote desktop users/remote control
users local groups, but still no change. I have checked
on local policy settings to no avail. I have XP pro
desktops that I can view their services from Server
Manager and change their local accounts via usrmgr
\\wkrstation etc. I can't figure out why I can't access
these tools on a XP pro install on a laptop. Please
assist.
