View Full Version : Created XP Software Restriction Policies by mistake and cannot delete

there doesn't appear to be a right-click on my setup either
- do you have a link to this kb article?

if you have unrestricted set as default - this is no
different no policy at all.

assuming that you still want to delete the policy.

these security settings are stored here - along with other
security settings:
c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine\registry.p ol and
used from here: hklm\software\policies\microsoft\window\safer\

if you have not set any other group policy settings or you
can remember the ones you have set and recreate you could
delete the registry.pol file - if you can use a hex editor
you could open this file and remove the precise entries -
email me if you want details.

I cannot find the external KB article on how to delete the policy either.

The default is "Allow All" You can delete the entry as Peter says below,
but the default won't hurt you.
