Recently Windows XP informed me that an update had been
downloaded and I should install it. Since then my
computer has been running very slowly.

How do I uninstall the update? Please help.

Thanks

Barbara,

Go to add/remove programs and check the list for the following entry
"Internet Explorer Q811493" which is generally the cause of the slowdown. If
it is listed, uninstall it.

You will, however, get a rather frightening message saying that any
program that you may have installed (these programs will be listed)
since you installed the update may stop working if you uninstall it.
You can probably tell it to go ahead anyway, but you should make sure
that you have a recent restore point, first.
