Word Bullet/Auto numbering

In word the bullet point and automatic numbering when
clicked to type against automatically indents. No matter
how many times we change it - it reverts back. Can
anybody advise how we set it up so that it automatically
inserts at the left hand margin with the text indented in
slightly

You need to ask this in a word group. MS in an act of complete and utter =
madness changed bulletts in word 97. It requires a book to explain how =
it works (I read an MS "book" on it once from the developers trying to =
explain and justify it).

If I need bulletts I Save As a word 6 document (which doesn't support =
stupid bulletts) then reopen and I get normal bulletts.
