Just installed the Winows XP update for .NET Framework
and now I have to ackowledge the account or cancel the
password screen before I get to the desktop.
How can I return to the original manner in which the
computer booted directly to the desktop without any user
intervention?
Thanks

Go to Control Panel > User Accounts and click on
"Change the way users log on or off", then uncheck=20
"Use Fast User Switching".

Hi Howard,
Goto Start > Run and type in control userpasswords2

When the User Accounts window appears uncheck 'users must enter a username
and password to use this computer'. Apply the setting and then you'll be
asked for the password of the user you wish to automatically logon as.

Hope that helps
