When I try to download updates for my XP it says my
product key is invalide. What do I do now. I bought the
xp off the internet.

If you purchased a copy of Windows XP from the Internet, firstly check to
see if the product is legitimate.

If you have a pirated version then you should take whatever action you can
against the seller and purchase a legitimate one from a recognised source.

Purchase and use a legitimate full copy of WinXP Pro to perform a
repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation, using the new CD and
Product Key.

Actually, I don't think you'll have a high enough IQ to see "within
the key". Go buy a licence and keep Bill Gates lavish life style
funded, considering that he ripped off the original creator of the
disk operating system. (Do your history!)
