XP freezes

XP freezes at "saving your settings" when a try shutdown. I have service
pack 1 installed.

Can anyone tells me what the hell....????

Check to see if you have an XP update #811493. If so go to add remove
programs and remaove it. There is a known issue wit it causing shutdown
problems.
