View Full Version : Welcome Screen
Is there a way to apply a screensaver to the welcome
screen? It seems rather pointless to have a screensaver
on each individual desktop since we all log off after
each session. I would like to see something other than
the Windows XP logo floating around (like some family pix
or something) Any suggestions from anyone out there would
be appreciated!

Deb,
You can make the needed changes manually. If you get errors doing this, you
need to make sure you're an Administrator level user.
Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop
Look in the right pane and set the values following values a indicated:
Name: ScreeScreenSaveActive
Value: 1
Name: ScreenSaveTimeOut
Value: Desired number of seconds to wait (900 is default, I believe)
Name: SCRNSAVE.EXE
Value: file name of the SCR file you wish to use. If its in the Windows or
Windows\System32 folder, you only need the file name.
