I cannot imagine why I don't have an Advanced" tab in the Device manager
when I click on a device's 'Properties'. I seem to recall seeing it at one
time but no longer. That is the tab where I can turn a drive's DMA access on
or off. Any help appreciated. Did I tweak it away somehow??

Thanks

DMA access is turned in via the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers branch. Expand
it, and locate the Primary and/or Secondary controllers and double click.
You'll see the Advanced tab there.

It's in the IDE controllers.

If you don't see it anywhere then you might be running the Intel
Application Accelerator which disables the Advanced tab. IAA
typically can be found in Start > Programs - it has many options.
