When I attempted to backup my Quicken file directly to
the CD-RW (E drive), I got the message that it was not
accessible. After research, I learned that I'd have to
set-up my E drive to act like a hard drive, so I could
save directly to CD. I tried to do that, through the
Device manager, but have not found a way to do it. Any
suggestions? Thanks.

Dawn;

In order to use a CD-Rw as a drive, you need to have packet writing
software installed (also referred to as DLA or Drag-to-disc). There should
have been some form of it on the drivers disc that came with the drive, or
available through the manufacturer's website. Some packages that include
packet writing are;

Roxio EZCD Creator (ver 4 and above for winXP)
Stomp RecordNow Max
Ahead Nero BurningRom
