my computer will disconnect from being on line if i do
not use it for a certain amount of time. about 15
minutes. how do i increase the amount of time that i can
walk away and it will not disconnect its self? thanks

From IE menu:
Tool>Internet option>Connection tab>Settings>Advanced> You get the idea

if your on a dial up modem, check the modem settings, take the tick off of
idle disconnect, or any others that disconnect you.

Of course he's on dial up, how else would he lose his connection after x minutes ?

Might still get kicked by ISP anyway by ISP's program. Why not get one of
those little progs that keep connection alive?

Wow, you mean you really don't think that people using DSL or Cable
Broadband have ever had issues with dropping their internet connections?

Uh, yes, it is true that DSL and Cable modems do not disconnect you
after a certain time limit - which may be why they call them "always
on" connections.
Of course, maybe you are related to clinton, and aren't sure what
always always means.
