Accessing Admistrative tool/Users and Computers

Cannot access Administrative Tools Users and Computers
after installing security updates. I receive the
following error message:

Snap-in fail to initialize and
Snap-in creation failed

I am running Windows XP.

at a cmd prompt enter=20
echo %path%
In the result do you see your system's equivalent of=20
c:\Windows\system32\wbem=20
??
If not, this needs to be present. The System env path var
usually is set to start out with=20
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\sy stem32\WBEM;
This is defined, as an admin, in properties of My Computer,=20
Advanced tab, Env Vars button.
