My Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop has a corrupt config system file which is
preventing me from starting up. I have followed the instructions in
Microsoft KB article but after I
1) change the boot sequence and put my cdrom drive at the top, save and exit
2) using my win Xp cd, boot to Recovery Console
3) at C prompt as instructed typed [md tmp], which now gives an ACCESS
DENIED response. I am assuming this is because the Safe Mode - Administrator
Account is password protected. Which I can't boot into either. is there
anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated.
