Have been using XP for a year now. Thought the moment
had come to create a separate user account for
someonelse. I created a new account with limited access
and changed the name of the Administrator account to my
own name.
Now I notice that the account with my name has got
initial settings with nothing in the folders, settings,
even keyboard language etc. I cant work or access my old
files, e-mail etc...
The system does not allow me to change back the name to
Administrator as it apparently already = or rather still=
exists somewhere but the system does not allow or propose
me to log on to that account anymore.
How can I get there????

Apparently you defined a new account when in fact you=20
believed you were renaming the Administrator account.
The Administrator account should still be available by=20
use of a safe mode boot, and if you have Pro by using=20
the alt-cntrl-del-del accessed alternate login dialog.
You may find it most simple in the long run with Home=20
to transfer your usage to a new account, perhaps using=20
the FASTWIZ (in the support\tools folder of the CD).=20
In Pro you can make the Administrator account appear=20
on the Welcome screen (renamed or not) either using=20
TweakUI from the PowerToys or with direct registry=20
editing. The Adminsitrator account will become hidden=20
as soon as there is a second account, so this is what you=20
have seen happen.
