windows alert

G'day. when using the internet for prolonged periods, I
get this window appearing styles "Windows Alert",
suggesting that my system is open to attack (despite my
Norton antivirus cover).
Is this a Microsoft in-built security product?
If so, does it suggest antivirus protection with firewall
isn't sufficient?
Would appreciate any responses, thank you.
