I have an adsl connection...but this might work
1. switch control panel to classic interface
2. in contrl panel choose phone and modem options
3. choose the dialog box's advanced tab
4. under extra initilization commands, clear any M...
entry and type M0 not MO-M with a zero on the end
5. if another entry (that doesn't start with an M)
exists, keep it there and put M0 after it.
6. connect to the internet and see if the sound comes
7. if this doesnt work, go to your modem's manual to see
if it has an oddball command.
