Please help - welcome screen says I have unread emails!

Hi there -

When I turn on my pc, & the welcome screen appears
showing all the users, against my name it says I have 2
unread emails from an old hotmail account I have deleted.

How do I get rid of this message every time I turn on the
pc please?
