I need to have a classic desktop displayed for users
logging into a domain in active directory win 2000.
I have approximately 200 user accounts that need the
classic desktop at logon.

I do not want to login two hundred times to change the
desktop to classic.

Please help.

You need to add the policy for this setting to your Domain Policy files.

This setting is defined, on the XP machines in the Windows\inf\system.adm
Policy definitions.

The key is

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explore
r

ClasssicShell

This is a Dword value. 1 = Classic Shell on, 0 = Classic Shell off

You could also apply this setting via logon script, or other method.
