I am attempting to make a desktop
shortcut to my favourite url's but whenever
I go thru the wizard and it places the icon on
desktop and I activate it an error message
appears stating "Windows cannot find the
url" address.

Also at the moment if a friend sends
me an email and there is an url address in it I cannot
activate it from the email too all I get is
a blank browser screen.

any suggestions please?

I am running WinXP Home edition.

Hi,

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Hyperlinks not opening:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.

Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome
