New user to Windows XP. How do I change the coloring of
the lettering on my desktop icons? It is white. I have
gone to appearance and set to classic and selected buttons
but still no luck.

Hi Warren,
By default in XP, it can't be manually changed. The text changes on its own
from dark to light depending on the color of the background. It is based on
the Desktop color not the Wallpaper. The combo is whether or not you are
using a Wallpaper and what the Desktop color is.

ALMOST ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
Actually the only limitation is imagination.
So...
If you want to CHANGE the color of the text of the icons in XP even when
they have a shadow visible
or
If you want to make all the icons text invisible (not transparent but
completely gone)
and enjoy lots of other spectacular effects including shadows transparencies
and 3d windows transitions get this software:

Most of the best effects work only in registered mode though.
