I installed critical updates as recommended, also was
advised to start computer in safe mode after a notice of
a possible hacker! Now I can't start my computer because
xp won't start insafe mode. How do I get out
Futhermore I have tried to create emergency start disks
from our other computer but it says that ther is
something wrong with the disks and they can not be
formatted I have ran the disk troubleshooter, Itsays that
there are no problems...I NEED HELP! Is there any way of
getting out of safe mode?
Thanks Sharon

You are in safe mode or you are not in safe mode? At the start of your
message it says you can't get into safe mode, but at the end it says you
need to get out of safe mode?

To get into safe mode, if ths is the problem, reboot the machine and keep
hitting F8. Eventually you will get a screen prompt where one of the choices
is to start in safe mode.

Have you tried this? What have you tried to get into safe mode? Sounds like
you have a problem on the other machine also if it is not using the discs.
Are they New discs? Have yo tried opening the Command Prompt on the other
machine and formatting manually (format a:\)?
