Document Imaging selection problem

With XPHome Office Document Imaging I cannot select text in the Page Pane. I
click and drag but nothing is selected.

I can go to the Edit menu and Select All, which selects all of the text on
the page.

I want to select and copy a part of the page as a graphic, by clicking and
dragging, but the ODI does not respond with a selection.

How can I get ODI to select part of a page as a graphic?
