ok I am really computer illiterate. Where in the world in
Windows XP do I find the screen for writing and printing
letters? Previously with Windows 98 I automatically had
an icon for Word Perfect Corel? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

Was Corel loaded on your new system?
If not, click Start>All Program> and search for the program you need there.

You can use the "little" word processor Word Pad which comes with XP. No
full word processor is packaged as part of the XP operating system. Nor
as part of Win 98 for that matter ... your copy of Word Perfect either
was packaged by the computer vendor, it was procured separately.
You might be able to reinstall Word Perfect from the CD's that hopefully
you still have.
Beyond those options, you can chose a new product. Word from Microsoft
which is part of the Microsoft Office Suite, a new copy of Word Perfect,
Open Office (free from www.openoffice.org), etc. Many options are there
for you to chose.
