adding a floppy

[Drio]

Hey there gang. I've just recieved a new Dell which had
no floppy drive. Well I grabbed an extra one from my
closet and threw it into the machine. No luck. I
changed the bios so it knows the drive is there. Still
no luck. (I also could't get the a-drive to show as an
option in the boot order) What am I missing? I checked
for jumpers on my mobo.. nope.

Any ideas? TIA!

Any chance that the floppy drive ribbon is upside down or twisted so
that it's plugged in the wrong direction?
