How do I remove apps that I do NOT wnat to start each
time I start Windows? There is nothing in my startup menu.

Run "msconfig", click the startup tab. Uncheck the programs you do not want
to run on startup. The next time you boot to XP you will get a warning that
you are running from a custom startup, click the don't show this message
again box.
