I want to back up express imformation- addresses, emails, and newsgroup
links.
Help says to compress and then copy the files. It says they will be .dbx
files
Where do you find these files once they are compressed?
I have searched the c drive (hard disk) for them but cannot find any .dbx
files?
Once you compress them how are they restored? Help doesn't seem to know how
to do that.

Your Inbox, Outbox and Deleted files from Express are .dbx files. There should be those on the computer. I was told that a good way to keep your email running good is make sure that the Sent, Deleted and Outbox (if you want) .dbx files should be regularly deleted. Even though you empty in Express they are still there on the computer.
There is a little program called DBXExtractor that you can get that will extract emails if your program is not working proparly. I always found it to work pretty good.
I know this isn't much of a help to you. Maybe you could go to Windows Explorer and have a look in there and then just burn the things that you want onto a disk?
Just a suggestion, sorry if its no good.
