Hi Les Herrman & Andrej Budja (MCSE+I, MCT, MS MVP), =20
Thank You! Thank You! .... No, not enough --- I should says "A Million =
Thanks To You!" =20
I've tested Shutdown.exe and it's work 100% on my WinXP machine.=20
In DOS version: Download the software: http://www.budja.com/shutdown/ =
and save to C:\ (root of C:). Open in Start / Run / type cmd.exe / OK. =
Change Directory twice by typing cd.. then press Enter key (do it =
twice) to uplevel to root of C:\> then type shutdown.exe -u and press =
Enter key (a space in -u).
In Windows version: If you tested it works in DOS and You change nothing =
& your software shutdown.exe is still in C:\ , right mouse click at =
blank area of desktop and choose New / Shortcut / click Browse button =
and click My Computer / select C:\ and scroll down & select =
shutdown.exe / OK / click the white area of highlighted shutdown.exe and =
press Space Bar key once then type -u and press Next / Finish. =20
To test it: Go to your desktop and look the shutdown Icon, click on it. =
If it work and you would like to change the Icon. Right mouse click at =
the shutdown Icon & choose Properties then select Change Icon button. I =
choose the red square Icon for Power symbol. Hide the shutdown Icon so =
kids don't know about it or change to not so bright looking Icon.
This is fast man, it eliminate 2 click steps to shut down computer. =
You're a Great fellow ---- and really make my day! =20
Most Happy ;o) Rino
