Un-hiding unused programs in Start Menu and IE

Never mind--I figured it out! Apparently, when you click
on "Enable Personalized Menus" in the Advanced area of
configuring the Start Menu and the Advanced tab of
Internet Tools in IE, this is what really causes the
unused folders and favorites to disappear until you want
them.

Does anyone know if there are any other consequences to
enabling Personalized Menus besides this?
