View Full Version : Desktop redirection stuck ON!

Hi,

Our sysadmin turned loose a nasty little utility on our
local domain called ScriptLogic. Seems it decided to
redirect my entire desktop to the network in a private
folder called \\dinky\marks$\desktop. I was ignorant for
a few days until I logged into the domain on a bench
machine and found my entire personal machine's desktop
replicated on the bench pc.

I've had this utility turned off for my account, but the
redirection bit is stuck in XP. Seems they change an XP
setting and I'm not sure how to disable it? Still copying
something to the desktop actually copied the file to the
private network location. I could almost live with it,
but sometimes when I download files and select the
desktop as the destination, they go to C:\Documents and
Setting\... Of course this doesn't show up on my
(redirected) desktop!

How do I fix this?

TIA,
Mark
