When I turn my comptuer on it ALWAYS posts an error
message "NT On-Access Scanner Service encounters
problem."
I have loaded the most recent Windows XP updates, ran
Symantec Liveupdate, and used the blast removal tool,
however, I still get the same message when I turn
on the computer.
Any other suggestions?

A search at www.google.com shows that this term "On-Access Scanner Service"
is used by several antivirus programs. I don't see Norton or Symantec
mentioned though. Are you running two antivirus programs at the same time?
If yes, run one for full protection. Keep the other one in reserve to
double check the system. Disable first antivirus program and then run the
reserved program.
