I installed all the XP udates that were available on
8/2/03. I don't know which one, but one of them causes me
to have to use a user account in order to get into the
computer.
I find this to be truly annoying. I want to fire it up, go
get a soda, take a crap, whatever, come back and it has
already gone thru all of the startup crap, like loading
settings, anti-virus updates, etc.

Is there some way that this can be disabled?
Thanks.

Hi Nick,

The .Net Framework update adds another user.

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
