i too am seeking this information. i've just switched to
XP and that's one of the things i miss most from 98se.
seems like it should just be a command-line shortcut
and/or a registry edit. this info may be buried
somewhere in these 897 pages of postings, but without
a 'search' feature (hint, hint, Microsoft!), i'll never
find it. i did spend some while reading back page by
page, but to no avail. so mort, let's cross our fingers
that some kind and knowlegable person will (re)post this
info. :) tia to all.

In the 'properties' for the Explorer shortcut, change the suffix from .exe
to .scf ... e.g. %SystemRoot%\explorer.scf

See if that gives you what you're looking for.
